On 28th March, 2012 concrete was poured onto the new bridge in Hayle. Although the
bridge had been under construction for some months, this was an historic moment for
the development of Hayle. Many locals turned out to see the work which began at 06:30
and finished at 16:30.
John Farrar spent all day with his digital camera automatically taking a picture every 10 seconds from a tower on St. Elwyn’s Church. These photos will form a time lapse video which can be purchased from the Archive. Watch this space for more details. This slide show shows some of the photos taken during the day.
The time lapse DVD is now available at £2.00 from the Archive, and other outlets in Hayle. A much speeded up version can be seen on the BBC website here. This was an iconic moment for Hayle so be sure to get your souvenir of the event.
